HX42 Environmental Control Unit

The HX42 is a comprehensive environmental controller which can be configured in a number of ways.  The initial settings are made via PC at the Climatec technical office, and can be altered by Climatec engineers to accommodate changing requirements.

Extremely flexible parameters – 56 inputs and 72 outputs.

Setting of all variables – temperature, relative humidity, etc., is carried out directly on the HX42 unit.
Following the initial configuration, the HX42 displays only the available control settings.

The HX42 can control:

• Ventilation - Up to 16 independent and fully adjustable ventilation stages.
• Air Inlets - Controls up to eight independent side or ridge air inlets. Inlet control can be a combination of:
  • Pressure
  • Associative (stage control)
  • Natural
• Heating - Controls up to four space heaters / radiant and auxiliary heating.
• Cooling - Controls two cooling systems via temperature and relative humidity.
• Alarms - Alarm functions for:
  • Min. & max. temperature
  • Min. & max. humidity
  • Min. & max. pressure
  • Min. & max. feed
  • Min. & max. water
  • minimum energy consumption
• Heat Index - The HX42 can operate in accordance with the heat index or the relative temperature of the birds.
• Average Temperature Value - A maximum of four temperature probes can be connected to measure the indoor ventilation temperature, which together with the heating and inlet probes can create an average temperature value.

In addition, the HX42 can control the following feeding parameters:

• Water - Programming and recording of daily water consumption. Min. & max. alarm.
• Feed - Programming and recording of daily food consumption. Min. & max. alarm.
• Light - Programmable On/Off and % light control with increase and decrease lighting times.
• Bird counting - Daily record of bird mortality.

The HX42 has inbuilt provision for:

• Calendar - Heating, cooling and ventilation requirements can be set to run automatically according to the age of the birds.
• Archive - The built-in Archive stores all the relevant information, including temperatures, feeding and alarms.
• Graphic Display - User-friendly help screens make entering settings simple. Main parameters can be displayed as diagrams.
• Check Control - All working parameters - inputs, outputs, alarms, etc., can be easily displayed and checked using thr 'check control' function.
• Macro Setting - Fast recall of the most used program functions can be assigned to the numerical keys.
• Password - Up to three password levels can be set.
• Wiring and Installation - The HX42 is supplied in an IP54 insulated enclosure. All system extensions (inputs, relays, etc.) are supplied as DIN modules. Wiring via standard 3-core cable (up to 10M distance). Extensions can be installed in main control panel, thus minimising wiring costs.
• Software Upgrade - HX42 software can be easily upgraded from a PC.
• PC Connection - HX42 can be connected to a PC, individually using the "HX42 Dialogue" software, or as part of a group of HX42's using the HBOX & the "HX42 HNET" software.
